What we can renew

Stable, long-term medications you have already been prescribed
Antihypertensives, statins, thyroid replacement, asthma inhalers, contraception, and similar maintenance therapy
Mental-health medications (with a recent psychiatric review on record)

What we cannot renew

Controlled drugs (Schedule 2-3 — opioids, ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines)
Brand-new prescriptions for medications you have never taken
Medications requiring in-person physical examination at every renewal

If we cannot renew your prescription online, the Online Doctor will tell you and refund your consultation fee.

Which pharmacy do you send it to?

Any registered Irish pharmacy on the HealthMail network — over 1,990 pharmacies including all major chains and independents.

How long until the pharmacy has it?

Usually within 30 minutes of your consultation. Pharmacy turnaround on dispensing depends on each pharmacy's queue.

Can I collect it the same day?

Yes, in most cases. Tell the pharmacy when you leave your consultation that a HealthMail prescription is on the way.

Do you do private and reimbursable prescriptions?

Yes — both standard private prescriptions and HSE/DPS-reimbursable prescriptions where appropriate.

Is this safe for long-term meds?

Yes, when used appropriately for stable conditions. We will refer you back to in-person review if your symptoms or dose need a closer look.

How much is it?

€34.99 per consultation, including up to three medication renewals. The pharmacy may charge separately for dispensing.
