School Absence Note Online — Ireland

How it works

1. Book a 15-minute consultation. A parent or guardian must be present.
2. The Online Doctor briefly assesses your child and confirms the period of absence.
3. A signed PDF absence note is emailed to you for the school / college.

What the note includes

• Child name and dates of absence
• Generic clinical reason (e.g. "viral illness", "infectious GI illness")
• Doctor name, IMC number, and signature
• "Fit to return" statement on the date of return

What we cannot do online

For HSE-required school exclusion certificates (rare), in-person assessment is sometimes specified. We will tell you if your case falls into that category and signpost you appropriately.
