How is this different from a sick cert?

A sick cert is short documentation only. A sick-leave consultation is a longer clinical assessment producing recommendations and documentation suitable for ongoing absence.

Can the doctor recommend a longer absence?

Yes — the assessing Online Doctor will document the period they consider clinically appropriate.

Will my diagnosis be on the documentation?

By default, no — we use neutral wording. If your employer's policy requires diagnostic detail, you can request that during the consultation.

Is this acceptable to occupational health?

In most workplaces, yes. Some larger employers require their own OH assessment in addition; check your contract.

Can I have a follow-up review?

Yes, follow-ups are available at the same flat rate.

Will my regular doctor be informed?

Only with your explicit consent. We can write a letter to your usual treating doctor at no extra charge if you wish.
