Will my employer accept an online sick cert?

Most Irish employers accept digital sick certs from registered medical professionals. We recommend checking your contract or HR policy first if you are unsure.

How fast will I get the cert?

Typically within 10–20 minutes of your consultation finishing. The signed PDF is emailed to you and securely stored under your patient record.

Can I get one for the past few days?

Yes — you can request a backdated cert if your illness already started. The Online Doctor will review and decide what is clinically appropriate.

Can I use this cert for Illness Benefit (DSP)?

No. The DSP requires the official paper IB1 form completed in person by your usual treating doctor. Online consultations cannot replace that requirement.

Is the consultation private?

Yes. Your consultation is encrypted, your record is held under HSE-aligned data-protection rules, and no diagnosis is shared with your employer.
