How much does an Online Doctor consultation cost?

Standard fee is €34.99 per consultation. Some services (medication renewals, sick certs) are at the same flat fee — there are no surprise charges. Receipts are issued for private health insurance reimbursement claims (Laya, VHI, Irish Life Health), though policy coverage varies.

Is this covered by my medical card?

The GMS medical card covers consultation with your contracted GP. Private Online Doctor services like Dox on Call are not part of the GMS — they're a paid private option, often used when you want speed, convenience, or to avoid taking time off work. If cost is a concern, contact your treating doctor or HSE Live first.

What if I'm not happy with my consultation?

Refunds and concerns are handled through our Complaints Procedure. We follow the Medical Council's complaints framework. Significant clinical concerns are also escalable to the Medical Council (Medical Council of Ireland) or HIQA where appropriate.
