Getting a blood test in Ireland privately means two separate things happening: somebody takes the sample, and a laboratory analyses it. This page is about the first part — finding somewhere close to you that will actually take it.
It is a harder question than it should be. Pharmacies are on a public register; phlebotomy services are not. There is no single list to look up, which is why patients so often end up phoning around. We are assembling one here, clinic by clinic.
One thing every service below has confirmed: they will take a sample on a referral from a doctor who does not work at their clinic. Anywhere that draws only for its own clinicians is left off, because turning up with our letter would get you turned away.

Four questions worth asking on the phone
- Will you accept this referral letter? Ask whether they want it sent ahead or brought with you.
- What do you charge to take the sample, and does the laboratory invoice me separately afterwards?
- Do I need to book, or can I walk in — and are draws limited to certain hours?
- Do I need to fast? Some tests require it and some do not; the clinic can tell you from the request form.
